Honeywell SD-851E Optical Smoke Detector

Advanced conventional smoke detector of the optical type from the 800 series of Notifier detectors. The 800 series of detectors is compatible with the classic B401 bases and offers unseen capabilities in conventional detector technology such as, addressing capability, customisable sensitivity level, test capability, etc.

The SD-851E is part of the Processor enhanced Detection series of conventional detectors. These detectors are produced using the latest manufacturing and design techniques, which push the boundaries of existing conventional technology. With a microprocessor and multiple enhanced features such as drift compensation, this detector is the best in conventional detection.

The SD-851E photoelectric smoke detector contains an optical chamber which is constantly monitored by a processor, using algorithms developed specifically for this unit. An alarm signal is only admitted when the processor decides that a starting fire is present, minimising false alarms.

'Drift compensation' algorithms are one of the main features of the SD-851E detector. These internal algorithms ensure an alarm sensitivity threshold for periods between maintenance intervals. This allows the user to save maintenance time by extending the time for cleaning the detector chamber while minimising the risk of false alarms.

The sensitivity of a smoke detector is critical to its overall performance, this results in detecting fire and its immunity to false alarms. The performance of the SD-851E can be optimised for its application by selecting one of 3 alarm limits - Low, Medium and High, thus achieving greater stability and optimum performance in the environment in which the detector is installed. This selection is easily achieved through the programming remote control.

The programming remote control can be used with the PhD series of detectors to access other enhanced features. These available functions include reading/writing the last maintenance, reading room soiling and performing an alarm test.
